Until now, I assumed that the Gerudo Tribe had been completely wiped out prior to the events of TP. But the official timeline has shown that not to be the case. So what exactly happened to them? And why weren't they in TP?

In all honesty, I do believe you make a good point. It does simplify a lot of the more complicated maters of the timeline.

Anyway, once I see the translation of the timeline with my own eyes, I'll replace my theory with it and provide a hyperlink to the translation. I recommend others do the same to aid noobies to the timeline theories.
