I do think that there should be a separate area in the Mature Discussion (sub-forum would be best in my opinion) for adult related content. Or add prefixes so people can filter out topics they may be more sensitive to.

But making an area as a place where non serious threads can be made, I think kind of ruins the whole point of said thread being made. As was pointed out before, a satire thread looses it's meaning and purpose when everyone knows it is satire, and it can also become more of a joke thread with people playing along. Though satire can be a strong way to show one's opinion at times, if it creates problems like the one it did, or encourages spam, I think it would be a better idea to just not allow it.

I don't think it would be so much that spam is being made, but more that it would simply add a place for fun, non-serious adult conversations, which I'm sure many people would enjoy. And then we could also have separate serious mature conversations. Mature has a few different meanings- it could mean serious, but it could also simply mean "18+" conversations, which can just be for fun. Like "General Adult Conversations" or something.

I don't see anything wrong with satire. It can generate a conversation just as well as anything else.

May be true...BUT I don't think talk about what porn people watch and what people masturbate to really belongs on a Zelda/Pokemon fansite. I'm sure the mods would agree...

I really like Annie's prefixes idea. We can have sex, politics, religion etc prefixes.

I'm kind of more on Annie's side. I don't think we need to support immature threads like the ones Dragoncat stated. We also don't need areas that support satire and joke threads, because all they are is spam and arguably trolling.

I'm thinking there could be sub-sub forums in the MD for different topics, because I think it would be easier to 'ban' people from the sub-sub forums who don't want to see post about said topics or accidentally find out things they didn't want to know about. That would be especially good for the young members on the site.

In relation to the whole Mature Discussion/Serious Discussion topic, I'll throw in my two cents. I think it would be redundant to rename the Mature Discussion into the Serious Discussion sub-forum. The Mature Discussion could mean a lot of things such as "18+ topics" or actual serious discussions. In other forums that I participate in, it is usually known as the Serious Discussion section. While it is known as the SD, there are many topics that 18+ and yet at the same time are still taken seriously. The thing with satire being allowed in the MD is that there really is no point in having it considering how in numerous sections of the forum already have been infected with satire in any shape or form.

Now if there was less satire taken place in general, I probably wouldn't mind satire but because most areas in the forum already contain satire or steadily receiving such mindset (I mean for crying out loud there was a thread in the Role-Playing section that has been deemed considered rather trollish or unnecessary to begin with in the first and people actually jumped on that thread even thought they have never stepped foot in the RP section as of late till that thread was made), you combine all sections of the forum into one and change the name to "Satirical Discussions".

I would think that the MD would at least stray away from that, but it hasn't. And because of that, people will react and only till then will someone state that it was meant to be satire, but do you see how it has to take someone to react before the author has to state that it is in fact satire? It makes both the author and person reacting look bad and I'm certain no one wants to be observed in a negative light. Either the rules have to be heavily followed or the MD has to be locked simply because of the possibility of abuse of such tactic. It also makes the rest of the actual serious MD threads to look like they are also satire, but that it just my opinion. All I'm saying is that the MD should moderated very critically if people still want to be able to post in that section of the forum.

Can we have a rule about no satire in the MD? I don't want to see the situation that happened with the female orgasm thread again...I might ruffle some feathers by saying this but I feel that it needs to be brought up. Even though we only had one person who was majorly offended, that's enough. I have nothing against satire, but I just...feel that the MD is no place for it.

It doesn't have to be a "do this once you're banned" rule...

Alternatively a "Serious Discussion" section (where things are to be posted seriously). Then Mature discussion could simply be "adult" content, not necessarily serious. Or ask folks to post [Serious] for all topics that the OP wants discussed seriously.

Maybe the Mature Discussion forum could be renamed Serious Discussion and then there could be a Mature Discussion, like you mentioned, sub-forum within it

Great idea :)

If I am actually this terrible person for not finding bullying behaviour, misogyny and comments that would not be out of place during the 1950s hilarious and clever, I'm glad.

Maybe I have made derogatory comments towards men before. But maybe I should be more specific? There are some guys on this website that they describe. There are plenty who aren't covered by the words 'stupid', 'ignorant', 'sexist' and so on. For example, Wolf Sage, Lord Vain, Mellow Ezlo just to name a few. Including Seth, actually, because I didn't mean to personally attack you in any way before ebcause tbh I didn't look to see who started that thread and I realise your intentions were probably good even if you could have gone about it much better. There are more of you so if you weren't mentioned in with the 'good guys' please don't feel the need to throw a hissyfit.

I don't really see telling the truth about people as 'immoral'. If you are an arsehole, I will tell you. That's just who I am. At least I don't spend all day writing out long, articulate responses ripping people to shreds, belittling them and trying to satisfy my own ego. Not that I never do that, but I don't do it all the time. I also don't get my mates to respond to comments too and make someone feel even ****ter about themselves than they already do. I frankly do other things than sit here on ZD. But lately when I do take the time to come here all I see is some pretty disgusting behaviour towards each other. I'm including myself in this somewhat. This is why I stopped coming on here for a while, it gets real tiring trying to write a simple point that has no loopholes so that some dickhead I've never met can try tearing me a new butthole. And it isn't as if it's just guys I don't get on with. The person I least get on with here is another girl. I'm not gonna name names because we leave each other alone. So stop right there before you say it's me and my man hating ways. It isn't. (And again, I just had to cover that little loophole because otherwise someone is almost guarunteed to quote it and turn me into a b*tch).

What concerns me is there are kids as young as 12 on here and I highly doubt their parents would like to see a bunch of grown *** adults a) fighting amongst ourselves and b) possibly picking on them too. Get a clue, please, and be a bit more responsible. One of the better and most mature discussions I've seen was created by just one such kid, Chimera if I'm not mistaken. How come she can formulate an actual discussion and debate without insulting everyone from the Pope downwards and people in their late teens and early 20s can't?

I'm just not going to bother with any but the actual Zelda forums anymore. Y'all are too exhausting.

Now I'm just going to anxiously sit and wait for you to find some new way of making me look stupid. I'm not stupid, trust me. I just don't feel the need to give you a list of qualifications in order to prove it to people. So do you worse, I don't care, ciao.

I suggest that people make actually suggestion in this thread or expand on suggestions in this thread.

Trollish comments and pointless pictures don't need to be in here.

To be honest, your reply doesn't need to be here either. You could have reported their posts or informed a mod, yet you decided to take action. If someone's bothering you on the site, it's not always a good thing to directly confront them.

Considering this is a suggestions thread, I was wondering if anyone else was having any problems loading the site? I'm gonna look into my computer a bit more, but on both Google Chrome and Firefox I've had a ****ty time loading the site. On Firefox, the new SB doesn't even load. For once I think this new chatbox is the problem. Ever since it was added, I was having trouble loading numerous pages. They'll stop loading halfway and whatnot, it's starting to become very bothersome. Like I said, I'll look into my comp and see if I'm having any other problems, but is anyone having a similar issue? I know some people have said the new chatbox doesn't load for them, but are there any other problems you're having?

It's the new Facebook clone chatbox. It's horrible in every conceivable way, and will often break the entire page or make it load really slowly. It's an abomination that should not exist.

Took seven times to load Kit's post. This "chat" feature (I use quotes since it barely deserves to be called a chatting program) has been nothing but trouble, and is infinitely inferior to VBShout. Of course, Lord God Locke doesn't like VBShout, so we're **** out of luck.

I have been experiencing constant loading errors as well and it all started with the addition of our new chatbox. Sometimes I have to reload pages before I can like comments, very often when I click on the "Forum" tab or the "Blogs" tab I have to reload several times before it will show up. When the pages do load, they take forever to finish loading. Also, the chatbox thing itself has a hard time loading for me sometimes. I've noticed several instances when it says "loading" or whatever perpetually. I have to log out of the site and log back in for it to show up.

None of this happened before the new chatbox.

What browser are you guys using who are experiencing problems? I ask because I'm currently on my Netbook using Chrome and get no noticeable increase in site loading from the chat, and this is just a single core Atom with 1GB of RAM. So it may just be an issue with your web browsers not liking it.

That said, if you don't use it and want it completely gone then you can just disable Javascript for ZeldaDungeon and it'll go bye bye. I just checked and doing so will indeed kill the chatbox feature altogether.

Take a guess.
Can we perhaps have an option in the settings to turn the chatbox off? It obviously doesn't load on my iPad, and while I haven't experienced any unusual loading errors so far, having that pointless bar at the bottom of the screen is somewhat annoying. It also occasionally doesn't remain at the bottom of the screen when I scroll down and starts blocking text... I mean, I guess I could go disable javascript as suggested, but it'd make more sense to just have a site option for that kind of thing.
