About 20 minutes into the Nintendo E3 Digital Event today, Mr. Eiji Aonuma announced some of the new principles of the new Zelda game, as well as discussing the conventions of Zelda.
Hit the jump to see the video, along with shot by shot explanations and theories.

Exciting! Now it’s time to break this trailer down.
Here we see what would appear to be Hyrule Field, although looking very different from its older counterparts, looking peaceful, for now….
In this shot, a new monster tears through Hyrule Field, scaring away the wildlife and chasing Link away.
Now we see Link riding through a forest that looks strikingly like Faron Woods, on a horse that does not look like our conventional Epona.
This is the first full shot we get of Link and his horse (Maybe Epona, but we can’t be sure). Link is wearing what looks like a dark green cloak over a light blue tunic. On his horse we see a bow and a shield, as well as other unidentifiable items.
After the new, unidentified monster rips up the bridge, Link whips off his cloak, revealing symbols that, to me, look like the Hero’s Shield from Majora’s Mask.
Here we can see that Link is in possession of bomb arrows, returning from Twilight Princess.
Here is our first full shot of the new monster, which looks to me like it could be of the same origin as Koloktos from Skyward Sword.
In this shot, we can see that Link is wearing a tunic very similar to Link’s pajama’s in The Wind Waker, along with his gauntlets, which look like they have Gerudo designs on them.
This is our first look at some kind of new arrow tip, possibly obtainable through upgrades. It looks like it could have the same origin as the creature that Link is fighting.
In this final shot, we get our first full look at Link’s face. We can again see his The Wind Waker-pajamas-esque tunic along with his Gerudo gauntlets. His bow also looks very similar to the Hero’s Bow from Twilight Princess one more thing that stands out to me, Link is missing his hat!
Another thing I noticed, there is a complete lack of swords in this trailer!
Overall, I loved this trailer, and I loved every second of breaking it down. I’m extraordinarily excited to see more of this game!
So what did you think of the trailer? Let us know in the comments!
