Fan Theory: Who Is The Happy Mask Salesman, Really?

My favorite point, is that the Happy Mask Salesman is a reflection of Link, like Ravio. The ramifications of such an idea are extremely intriguing and my questions nearly explode: how did he come by the power to transcend time like Link? Was he too, blessed by the Goddesses? Why? Is his only function to help Link? What if there are more than three divine beings in the Zelda world, and the Happy Mask Salesman is one of them? What if he was the Loki, not Skull Kid?
