Japan’s long list of exclusive Nintendo merch items keeps getting longer. First, it had the Tears of the Kingdom Master Works book and then adorable controller keychains. Now, Nintendo’s Kyoto store has announced one of the most chic and practical merch lines. It is available now but unfortunately only at the in-person Kyoto location. Many products feature characters from The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, and Mario.

Every item represents a partnership between Nintendo and a local Kyoto retailer. Each contributor took their specialty and wove in a subtle nod to Nintendo. Let’s take a look at these fashionable lifestyle products.

The first item is a canvas bag from Ichizawa Shinzaburo Hanpu, which has been operating for over a century. This is an off-white, checkered tote with a red, stitched pocket patch emblazoned with the Nintendo logo. It is meant to replicate the interior of the Kyoto store. This costs ¥19,800 (~$128.80 USD).

Kyoto-based fan maker, Hakuchikudo, made hand-inked fans with character cameos. They are made from bamboo and pine with silver detailing. When closed, the sides have a fun red-and-white checkered pattern. This storefront has been experts in folding fans since 1718. Both designs are ¥6,600 (~$42.93 USD).

Next is Ayanokoji’s pouch and bag collection, featuring characters in pastel yellow, red, and blue. There is an adorable coin purse for ¥2,750 (~$17.88 USD), a card wallet for ¥4,620 (~$30.05 USD), and a shoulder bag for ¥5,830 (~$37.92 USD). This company prides itself on being innovative with materials and stretching their designs to fit modern tastes.

And what would a lifestyle collection be without a new tie? Nekado managed to keep it professional with a subtle yet eye-catching red tie featuring character outlines. Their other contribution is a dark blue and red striped number bearing logos instead of characters, such as the Hylian Crest and Animal Crossing item leaf. Both are ¥11,000 (~$71.55 USD).

Last, but not least, is a boxed stationery collection from Kyukodo, which has been around since 1663. The exterior is made from Yuzen paper, featuring intricate, filigreed vines. This gorgeous box costs ¥4,400 (~$28.62 USD), and you could purchase items to put in it separately. This includes a sakura-scented sachet for ¥990 (~$6.43 USD), a paper set for ¥715 (~$4.65 USD), a Pochibukuro envelope set for ¥1,485 (~$9.65 USD), and letterpressed postcards for ¥440 (~$2.86 USD) each.

If these were available near you, which item would you gravitate toward first? Let us know in the comments!
