Disaster Relief Done Quick 2024 Schedule Revealed, Features Two Zelda Titles

As the southeastern United States still reels from the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene and even more recently by Hurricane Milton, leave it to the folks over at Games Done Quick (GDQ) to help those affected. About a week ago, GDQ announced on X that they’ll be hosting a 56-hour speedrunning event called Disaster Relief Done Quick from Friday, October 11th to Sunday, October 13th. This speedrunning exhibition will be raising money for Direct Relief, a non-profit humanitarian aid organization providing emergency medical assistance and disaster relief in the United States and internationally.
Just recently, GDQ revealed their official schedule for Disaster Relief Done Quick, which includes two Zelda games. The series title we know will be played for sure is The Wind Waker, with an Any% No MSS (Manual Superswim) run by Glubbers on Saturday, October 12th at 7:16 PM EST. The other potential Zelda inclusion is a donation incentive-based bonus that, if met, will unlock an Any% run of Echoes of Wisdom by gymnast86 on Sunday, October 13th at 9:41 PM.
As a person who currently resides in Florida, I appreciate it when groups like Games Done Quick come through with events like this one pretty quickly. I was very fortunate to have made it through Milton and Helene with my family unscathed, but others weren’t as fortunate. If you know of any friends or family that were affected by these hurricanes, please try to help them out in any way you can. A little goes a long way.
Disaster Relief Done Quick 2024 will begin today at 5:30 PM EST on Games Done Quick’s official Twitch channel.
