Digital version of The Wind Waker HD to be released earlier?

The countdown is under way for the release date of The Wind Waker HD but we have more news on the release of much anticipated game. We’ve seen a Wii U bundle looks promising (though still not heard anything of a UK release) but it seems as though there will also be a digital release as well as the regular retail version. The most interesting part of this? The release date of the digital release is slightly different from the retail version.
Take the jump for all the info!
In the UK, the game is due to be released on the 4th October this year but there doesn’t seem to have been a date released for the USA but it seems to be some time in October. As you can see in the screen shot above, there’s a deal about getting bonus coins when purchasing the game but the downloadable version ends 2 weeks before the retail version. It may be jumping to conclusions but this could hint towards the digital version getting a slightly earlier release.
However, I’m very sceptical. Both of the offers end before the game’s release date so it could just mean you have to pre-order the game by the given dates in order to qualify for the bonus coins. If the retail one ended in October when that version of the game is being released, I might be more convinced by it. Though I have the Gamecube version of the game, I’m getting more and more tempted to get a Wii U and The Wind Waker HD but, even if a digital version is released earlier, I’d rather have the retail copy.
How would you interpret the offer? Would you download the game or would you prefer to buy the retail copy? Could there come a day when retail copies are obsolete and every game is download only? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
