“Did You Get All That?” Weekly News Recap
Posted on August 16 2015 by Kira Koneko
Thank you for joining me once again for our weekly news recap where I, Kaepora Gaebora take you into the past to rediscover the most talked about and newsworthy articles of the last week. This week we started the week off with an award for an upcoming Zelda title, and there also seemed to be a slight battle of the Gossip Stones as those were some of the most commented pieces from the last week. Without further delay, lets begin our journey back in time. But before I do, I must ask…
Did you get all that? If you follow, join me on past the jump.
Our first stop on our journey takes us to the announcement coming out of Germany for the winners of the 2015 Gamescom Awards. Tri Force Heroes took home the award for “Best Mobile Game” which included Handheld, iOS, Mobile, Android. This is the second award this game has received since its announcement at E3 earlier this summer and with the release day just around the corner it looks like the excitement is just starting to heat up.

“This is absolutely a day-1 pickup for me. Been waiting ages to get more o’ that Four Swords style goodness. Even if they reduced/removed the competitive side of it. (So far as I am aware. If I am somehow mistaken and it is still cutthroat multiplayer, I will be quite happy.)”

The next stop on our adventure takes us to a piece about a fan revamping the Original Legend of Zelda with new sounds and visuals. The creative fan is YouTube user TCPixel and the comments the post received showed his inspired creativity was very much appreciated. TCPixel himself even felt motivated to comment and answer a few questions!

“Thanks for writing about my video! I’ve been checking up some of the comments and would like to answer some things. For those who don’t know, this isn’t a game, it’s actually a post production made in Adobe After Effects and Premiere. The goal was to add sound where a sound “should” be to attempt some realism. The Lighting in the dungeons is real dynamic lighting, the sounds are 15 layers of audio with 799 audio samples. The Wind Waker sound effects were a vote from Twitter, some of the clips are real world sounds which was the goal. I stripped the ground from the foreground entities, like Link, bushes, enemies etc. That allowed me to create a synthetic drop shadow and other various effects to seemingly “enhance” the graphics. I appreciate the time you spent writing this article and the people watching the video! Tips, recommendations, and criticism are all helpful so feel free to comment!”

Our last stop on our time travel adventure into the past will possibly break the space-time continuum as we will revisit three separate Gossip Stone simultaneously. Each week our crack team of writers bring you three separate Gossip Stones where they ponder various questions pertaining to the Zelda series. Once they have given you their thoughts, they then turn the floor over to you, to share in on the conversation. This week was no exception and it seems as if the team really inspired discussion as each piece ranked as some of the most commented posts of the week.
In the first Gossip Stone of the week Jon posed the question: How should Links family be involved in future Zelda games?
You all responded with many different opinions!
Sebastion cö very eloquently said:
“While it could turn out great to have a more emotional aspect in a game involving a closer family, what I believe is the central part that defines Link as a hero and what I believe is the reason for him having the Triforce of courage and being marked by it is the fact that he fights for EVERYONE:
he fights for his closest family, for they are his blood;
he fights for his neighbors, for they are close to him;
but, most importantly, he fights for everyone else who needs it, for that is what he feels is right.He was chosen because he will fight for them all, he will fight evil so that the land will know good.”
In our second Gossip Stone of the week, Liam asked the question: What Zelda game would you like to see remade?
Although many of you felt very strongly about seeing Twilight Princess being remade — which I wholeheartedly agree, a few of you had some different opinions.
TingleLingle said:
“Personally, I would like to see Oracle of Ages / Seasons remade for 3DS, sort of like a Link between Worlds. I don’t want to see a Twilight Princess remake for a very long time as it is already on multiple platforms. And let’s face it, the games that need to be remade are the ones you cannot find in stores anymore. You can find Twilight Princess anywhere now especially because it was selected by Nintendo to continue production of the game, through Nintendo Selects. Games I want remade are games that could use a polish in maybe graphics or gameplay to fit the current generation of gamers, and I think Oracle of Ages / Seasons fit the bill perfectly for that.”
Last but certainly not least we have arrived at the final Gossip Stone of the week, where Josh posed the question that most of us are probably wondering as the release of Tri Force Heroes encroaches upon us: Where is Tri Force Heroes going to be placed on the timeline?
Many of you chimed in with some of your own theories.

“If each Link has a piece of the Triforce, and their coloring represents Power, Wisdom and Courage, then this should take place after TP or after LA. Best place would be after LA because on the timeline between LA and LOZ it is know as “The Gold Era – The Triforce Using Monarchy” The Triforce has been swallowed by the Great Sea after TWW, so they shouldn’t re-introduce it in the Child timeline.”
Heibai shared an interesting theory as well:
“The “T” in the word “Tri” is an upside down triangle. Upside down triangle = upside down Triforce. Upside down Triforce = Lorulean Triforce. Lorulean Triforce = Lorule.
Tri Force Heroes will take place many many years after the revival of Lorule. Purple Link is missing from the game because Purple Link is/was Ravio.”

We have once again come to the end of our journey together. I will return next week to take you on another adventure back in time to revisit all the happenings in the land of Zelda Dungeon. I must now bid you farewell but before I do, I must ask…
Did you get all that?
