Daily Debate: Would There Be Any Benefit in Making Hyrule Warriors Canon?

One of my favorite Zelda games of all-time has to be Hyrule Warriors. As someone who is a fan of the gameplay style of Dynasty Warriors, the Zelda variation was a very entertaining and fun experience throughout. Getting to see the heroes of multiple timelines come together and show off their abilities was really enjoyable. The story, while not the best in the series, was still a good enough adventure that I was proud to be a part of.
Speaking of the story though, sadly Hyrule Warriors is not part of the official Zelda timeline which is sad. I believe it was a well-enough done story to be made canon. Characters like Lana and Linkle feel like they could fit in just fine in any of the timelines. The story itself could even be used to explain why Breath of the Wild’s placement on the timeline is after the three.
Imagine if the damage that Cia/Lana caused in Hyrule Warriors was slowly deteriorating all three timelines. The Guardian of Time probably figures that the only way they could fix them was by merging the timelines once more. It would be a interesting and even canon way they can explain why Breath of the Wild borrows so many elements from all three timelines.
Now that’s just the benefit that I see when it comes to making Hyrule Warriors an official part of series lore. What do you think? Would there be any benefit (not just the one I talked about here) in making Hyrule Warriors canon? Let us know in the comments below!
