Daily Debate: Will the Champion’s Tunic Be Replaced in Breath of the Wild 2?
Posted on September 14 2020 by Heather Beard
Link is almost always clothed in the iconic green tunic in Zelda games. There have been instances of him having other outfits he can wear, but Breath of the Wild gets the reward for most outfit changes in a Zelda game. The green tunic has always been iconic though, and that garment was seemingly replaced by the Champion’s Tunic in Breath of the Wild. So, will the Champion’s Tunic be replaced in Breath of the Wild 2?
I like to think that it will. I like to think that the Champion’s Tunic will be Link’s starting clothes and that we’ll see a return to popular clothing items like the Zora Armor, the Flamebreaker Armor, and others. Particularly, I enjoyed the wardrobe changes based upon the area you were in, and based upon play style. But I often opted for clothing that gave me the most defense. I also liked being able to use materials found to upgrade clothing items from the Great Fairies as well.
Upon completing 120 Shrines in Breath of the Wild you are gifted the Armor of the Wild set from the Monks. I hope that particular set, the traditional green that we all know and love, becomes Link’s primary outfit for Breath of the Wild 2. I think it’s only natural for there to be a new iconic item for Link to wear in the sequel, and I hope that it continues with Breath of the Wild’s champion blue or a return to the original hero’s green.
What do you think? Will the Champion’s Tunic be replaced in Breath of the Wild 2? Sound off in the comments below!
