Daily Debate: Which Role Would You Audition For in the Zelda Movie?
Posted on June 02 2024 by Judy Cooper
It’s been some time since Nintendo announced their plans for a Zelda movie, but that doesn’t mean fans have stopped thinking about it. There’s so much to be excited about, especially since Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes recently hit cinema screens. For those who don’t know, Wes Ball directed that movie, and will also direct the Zelda movie too. I personally loved this movie, and it made me even more excited for what we can expect from the upcoming live-action feature.
In my excitement, I’ve been thinking about all sorts of things. I’ve wondered how detailed the world will be and whether the story will be set in Hyrule. Will we see a fully medieval backdrop, or will there be some “modern technology” like we’ve seen in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom? I’ve been imagining who will actually play characters like Link and Zelda too. And that topic in particular made me think about who I would like to play in if I were cast to act in the movie.
I’ve thought hard about this, and as much as I’d like to play a Gerudo warrior, I just don’t have the right look. I would like to play a Hylian or a Sheikah but I want it to be an important role. When I say important, that doesn’t mean it has to be a very involved role, though. So, personally, I think I’d make a good Queen of Hyrule — and Zelda’s mother. I’ve got blond hair and blue eyes which are typical Zelda-like features. I’m also in the age range to play Zelda’s mother, at least by my standards. I can just picture myself in royal garb, looking on at Zelda, before unexpectedly and tragically perishing (for the plot, of course).
So, I’d like to know which role you would audition for in the Zelda movie. Let me know in the comments below!
