In case you’ve been one of the lucky ones who has somehow managed to avoid social media in the past week, Tears of the Kingdom leaked. I, unfortunately, am not so lucky, as my job here at Zelda Dungeon is spearheading the Social Media team. Let me tell you, the leaks are everywhere.

With my time on social media, I am also seeing so many people who stand staunchly on their leak outlook — to them, it is either very bad, why couldn’t you wait, you had to spoil it for the rest of us, or it’s great, I can play it now, my excitement was just too much to keep waiting. Now that this article from PCGamer has come out, talking about Nintendo’s response to the leak being to DMCA emulation tools, I can’t help but be intrigued.

Emulators and ROMs both have helped so many get a hold of games that they haven’t played for so long — heck, even I have had my own fun with an emulator or two. And not everyone who downloaded the Tears of the Kingdom leak is streaming it, or taking screenshots to share on Twitter and Reddit, or announcing to the world that they’ve played the game first. Some are just using it to…well…play. Are these people just as wrong as those who leaked it?

It’s a very gray subject, and, depending on who you talk to, what is right and wrong could be different. So I want to know, where do you stand on the Tears of the Kingdom leaks? Let us know in the comments below — and no spoilers, please. I get them enough on Twitter.
