Daily Debate: What Zelda Image Would You Carve into a Pumpkin?
Posted on October 30 2024 by Nicole Scott
Happy fall season and happy Halloween! I just recently carved my own pumpkin, and I sat thinking about my design long and hard before making the first slice. I ended up choosing a non-Zelda theme because all my Zelda-related ideas were far too ambitious. It did get me thinking though, if I were to improve my skills, what images would I love to see lit up during the fall?
I had considered a Triforce or Hylian Crest, because there aren’t that many details. It’s the most obvious option. You don’t have to do any fancy shaving to create a shading effect when you put a candle in. However, since we’re dreaming, here are some of the ideas I came up with!
If I had the skill, I would love to carve a Picori sitting near a mushroom. This is lofty, and even though Minish Village is coated in green, the mushrooms and coziness evoke fall feelings to me. I think having a Picori sitting near me with a bright light would be nothing short of delightful.
Then, I wondered what I would carve if I wanted something on the spookier side. The Zelda series has no shortage of eerie and creepy imagery, with Majora’s Mask being the most iconic. However, I think I would actually want to carve Yeta’s transformed face from Twilight Princess. I enjoyed this thought because the sharp teeth reminded me of a classic jack-o’-lantern with a Zelda twist. I also think having a fire behind her eyes would simulate the scary red hue they have in the game.
What would you carve in your dream Zelda pumpkin, or have you already made one this year? Share your creations or ideas in the comments below!
