Daily Debate: What One Zelda Item Would You Want In Real Life and Why?
Posted on February 19 2015 by Theodore Homdrom
The Zelda series is chock-full of interesting and exciting items. The Hookshot that began its existence in A Link to the Past has become a series staple, along with its occasional replacement, the Clawshot. Other items have been one-offs or rarely seen, like Minish Cap’s Mole Mitts, or the Switch Hook from Oracle of Ages.
These items have had varying levels of usefulness and a multitude of functions in Zelda titles. But what about in real life? I’m sure I’m not the first person to use an item in a Zelda game and think “man, I wish I had one of these for real!”
If you could have any one Zelda item in real life, what would you want, and why? I’m tempted to go for an obvious (and super cool) option like the Hookshot, but if I’m limited to one, I want the Cane of Pacci from Minish Cap. Having a staff that shoots a beam of energy which flips things upside down would be too much fun to resist (and great for pranks!). Plus, its energy can be reversed when captured in a hole, allowing for death-defying leaps onto high ledges. A combination prank item and platforming aid, I’d love to be able to fool around with it in the real world.
So what about you, dear readers? Let us know in the comments below what one Zelda item you would want in real life, and why!
