This year’s annual Game Awards streamed live on various social media platforms last night, and Tears of the Kingdom was nominated for a variety of awards, including Game of the Year. Tears of the Kingdom did snag the award for Best Action/Adventure Game, but fell short in other categories it was nominated for. So what did you think of Tears of the Kingdom’s performance at The Game Awards?

Honestly, I’m a little bummed that Tears of the Kingdom did not win Game of the Year, but it had a lot of competition. The sequel to Breath of the Wild was up against some powerhouse titles like Alan Wake 2, Resident Evil 4, and this year’s winner Baldur’s Gate 3.

Tears of the Kingdom was als0 nominated for Best Action/Adventure, Best Game Direction, Best Score, and Best Art Direction. The game did snag one award for Best Action/Adventure, but myself and I’m sure many others were a little disappointed that the game did not pick up one or two more awards last night. That being said, Tears of the Kingdom is a hugely successful game for Nintendo, and in the hearts of fans, it’s a winner. It was nice to see Eiji Aonuma repping a Champion’s Tunic shirt and thanking everyone for their support of the game. Best Action/Adventure is definitely a well-deserved award for Zelda and Nintendo.
