Daily Debate: What Are the Snappers in Majora’s Mask Saying?

I’ve been playing through Majora’s Mask a bunch lately, and trying to ask myself questions about a game that has already been well-discussed, even to the frustration of some. I recently came across a Reddit post that asked a relevant question I had never thought much of before: What are the Snappers saying?
If you’ve never played Majora’s Mask, Snappers are the turtles that exist as enemies in several different locations throughout Termina (the world in which the game is set). When they initially notice Link, they prepare to attack and make this sound:
While I have enjoyed mimicking the sound throughout the years, I never really stopped to think of what the Snapper might actually be saying. After reflecting on it, as well as reading some of the thoughts from others, my consensus is, “get wrecked.” Despite such a phrase not existing as predominantly in 2000 as it does now, having listened to the clip multiple times now, I can’t unhear this. Others heard, “cat crap,” “Aflac,” and, “quack quack”.
