Daily Debate: Should the Triforce Play a Bigger Role in the Sequel to Breath of the Wild?

I absolutely loved Breath of the Wild for its great story, unique gameplay, and lovable characters. I also loved that it continued the age-old feud between Link, Princess Zelda, and Ganon. But one question I still ask five years later is, Where’s the Triforce? Usually in mainline Zelda games that feature our hero, the princess, and our favorite Gerudo king involve the Triforce in some aspect, but in this adventure it’s nowhere to be found. One of the most prominent features of the series is not mentioned once throughout the story, but we do get a glimpse of the emblem every time Zelda uses her sealing powers.
These circumstances honestly makes me wonder, Does this incarnation of Zelda unknowingly have the full Triforce? Do the people of Hyrule during this age even know what the Triforce is? We know that Breath of the Wild is set so far down the Zelda timeline that a lot of history has been lost, so if this is the case, it would make sense! Regardless, I would absolutely love to see the Triforce play more of a role in the second part of this story, especially since we will be facing off with Ganondorf this time around (or Ganoncorpse as I’ve lovingly called his undead form). My favorite games in the series usually deal with an epic showdown with our three iconic characters battling it out over the Triforce, and I would love to see it again!
But what do you think? Do you think the Triforce should be more involved in the sequel to Breath of the Wild ? Let me know in the comments!
Chakell (pronounced shuh-kell) is an associate editor for Zelda Dungeon! She has loved The Legend of Zelda series since she was a little girl because of its equal mix of princesses, besting bad guys, and heartfelt stories. Chakell lives in the overall tame state of Utah, but holds onto her childhood hopes to find an adventure in her backyard one day. She has a degree in English and is a full-time editor for a magazine. You can usually find her gaming (obviously), laughing with her husband, taking a long time to tell stories because she keeps getting distracted; getting sucked into books and podcasts; or snuggling her cute Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
