Daily Debate: Of All Ganon(dorf)’s Forms, Which Is The Best?
Posted on December 21 2017 by Taylor Wells
Ganondorf has been a staple of the Zelda series since its inception and as such has had many incarnations over time. He also happens to be a boss or final boss of any Zelda game he appears in. With this in mind, let’s explore who this guy is and why he’s so important.
As a man, Ganondorf himself makes his first physical appearance in Ocarina of Time as a manifestation of the curse Demise lays upon Zelda and Link. Known by the moniker King of Thieves, Ganondorf rules the Gerudo tribe as the sole male born to the tribe every 100 years. While his motives vary depending on the game he is represented in, he decides to seek out the Triforce and use it to achieve ultimate power. By the end of the game, he has acquired the Triforce of Power which bolsters his already tremendous strength and magical ability, as well as assumes his beast form that he was commonly portrayed as in prior games. Post Ocarina of Time, Ganondorf appears in this human form only twice more in Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker while all others are in his beast form known simply as Ganon.
Because of these two forms, Ganondorf is portrayed both as a three-dimensional villain who is much more than simply Demise’s revenge against Zelda and Link, while Ganon tends to be a mindless, yet unbelievably strong beast. Either way you slice it, he’s generally one of the biggest threats to Hyrule’s well-being that they tend to face. So, that being said, which version of Ganon(dorf) is your all-time best ranked and why? Let us know in the comments below!
