It’s official, folks: we are now within the same month as Echoes of Wisdom’s release! New Zelda game launches always make for a momentous occasion, but this one is particularly special. Remakes and re-releases aside – and depending on how you’d classify Tri Force Heroes and Cadence of Hyrule – Echoes is the series’ first proper 2D adventure since 2013’s A Link Between Worlds. In a post-Breath of the Wild world, especially, there’s tremendous value in more traditional experiences such as these.

Admittedly, I don’t replay my favorite video games – Zelda or otherwise – quite as often as I used to. Not only is life itself busier, but I’m also so caught up in playing new games that I only occasionally get back around to those old favorites. And though this isn’t my only excuse to revisit Hyrule, I do find that – in recent years – I’ve been playing Zelda most frequently just before the launch of a new entry.

With that said, this month is doubly important for at least some Zelda fans. Sure, there’s a new game, but Sept. 26 – the same day as Echoes of Wisdom’s release, funnily enough – also marks ten years since the North American release of Hyrule Warriors! Serving as both a farewell party to Zelda’s pre-Breath of the Wild era and my introduction to the larger Warriors series, this title holds some of my fondest gaming memories. As such, there’s no better time than this month to revisit this gem. Given the sheer amount of content in the Switch’s Definitive Edition, I still have several Adventure Mode maps to complete.

What about you, though? In anticipation for Echoes of Wisdom, will you be playing any other Zelda games this month? If so, which ones? Let us know in the comments below!
