Do you think your Switch is due for a makeover? If so, check out Nerdforge’s amazing video in which Norwegian duo Martina and Hansi turn an ordinary Switch into a 3D Hyrule Castle!

The process starts off with the highly talented Martina painting a Hyrulesque landscape onto a surface and attaching it to the side of the Switch. Then the crafting fun begins: firstly, Martina uses extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam to create the shape of Hyrule Castle. The next step is to painstakingly carve details such as bricks, windows, arches, and textures. Martina then walks the audience through the process of decorating the castle several times, using different techniques to layer the colors and embellish detail.

In the meantime, Hansi customizes the Joy-Cons, while Martina adds lights, poseable flags, and banners. Finally, the placement of a hand-painted 3D-printed Link gazing out from the castle completes the transformation of the Hyrule Castle Switch.

The creators at Nerdforge are incredibly talented; their many projects include a Hearthstone Firelands Portal, a six-foot Hogwarts Castle, several PC builds including one that makes coffee, and a transformation of a PS5 to a Dwarven Kingdom.
