Cosmo Wright Breaks Ocarina of Time Speedrunning World Record
Posted on March 21 2014 by Jon Lett
Popular Zelda speedrunner Cosmo Wright has recently beaten the world record time for completing Ocarina of Time. The previous “any%” world record holder, skater82297, had beaten the game in a solid 19 minutes, but Cosmo managed to sneak past that time by a mere four seconds, landing a record of 18 minutes and 56 seconds.

It is hard to imagine how truly difficult it must to execute so many tricks and glitches so quickly for a speedrun, and Ocarina of Time is certainly a good example. Between the item glitches, wall-clipping, and wrong-warping, doing everything completely perfect seems like a pipe dream, but Cosmo says that, even after getting such a great time, there are a few places that he can still improve on, and he hopes to soon have a time under 18 minutes and 45 seconds. And who knows? Perhaps even more tricks will be discovered before then.
