Breath of the Wild was marketed as a speedrunner’s paradise. It was stated to be a game the player could fight the final boss right away, and that basically held true. Like other Zelda games however, players are looking for strategies to bypass certain mandatory sections of the game. Breath of the Wild is no different, as players have now found how to leave the Great Plateau using the Magnesis and Stasis abilities on a door, and then launching Link into Lake Hylia. YouTuber Mety333 has uploaded a compilation of attempts to YouTube. The method is quite interesting to watch, and the compilation has some rather humorous attempts.

I think its awesome to see things like this discovered. I’ve been a fan of sequence breaking in games since the days of Super Metroid and the Zelda franchise is no stranger to it. I’ve always wondered the process involved in finding these shortcuts, and how much work goes into perfecting them. I don’t think it is simple logic or trial and error that leads to these discoveries. When one finally appears though, it is always fun to see the method used to perform it.
