Do you remember the battles against each of the Blights in Breath of the Wild’s DLC, The Champions’ Ballad? These challenges take place in the Illusory Realm and are notoriously tough, given the low-level armor, limited array of weapons, and minimal resources at your disposal. Would you be surprised to learn, however, that over time, they gradually reduce in difficulty?

Gaming Reinvented, who are well known for their gaming news, interviews, and walkthroughs, have recently released a YouTube video following their analysis of The Champions’ Ballad boss fights. This includes the surprising detail that if you are repeatedly unsuccessful, the battles against the Blights get slightly easier. After three failed attempts, a Fairy appears in Link’s Inventory. Then, after six unsuccessful attempts, two meals/elixirs are also added, although these vary depending on the Blight in question.

In the battles against Water Blight, Fire Blight, and Thunder Blight, you get a Hearty Meal (full recovery and three extra hearts), and an Elixir. For the Water Blight fight, it is the Hearty Clam Chowder, and the Hasty Elixir, giving a low-level movement boost. The Fire Blight battle offers the Hearty Meat Stew, along with the Tough Elixir, granting a high-level defense boost.

The Thunder Blight challenge also includes the Hearty Meat Stew, but this time it is paired with the valuable Electro Elixir, providing low-level electricity resistance. The additional resources for the Wind Blight fight are slightly different; you get two Enduring Elixirs (10 hearts, plus it refills and extends your stamina wheel), which are designed to help Link stay airborne for maximum bullet time.

Interestingly, Link does not need to be killed to trigger these boosts; you can exit from the fight at any point and repeat until you get the boosts. Having the Fairy, meals, and relevant elixirs can definitely help you become victorious in these challenging battles.
