Check Out This Adorable Valentine’s Day-Inspired Zelda Fan Animation
Posted on February 17 2021 by Sean Gadus
It is February and that means Valentine’s Day for many people in the world. The holiday is focused on celebrating love and couples, along with corporations selling tons of jewelry, chocolate, and greeting cards. Many couples take time during the week around February 14th to do something special for their significant other in the form of a gift or a special gesture. Meanwhile, the rest of us lonely saps gaze longingly out into the distance, hoping next year will be different (or treat ourselves to something nice!).
Zelda fans looking for something sweet got a nice treat with this fan animation from shar. This is the fourth Zelda animation that shar has created and uploaded to their YouTube channel. While shar’s other animations have focused on aspects of modern life like texting and a train trip, this animation, titled “valentines chocolate,” focuses on a Valentine’s Day gift. In the animation, we see Zelda hand Link a delicious treat with the handwritten note “eat for energy”. I really love the slight smile that blossoms on Link’s face as he receives the present, along with the casual wave of the hand Zelda gives Link as she departs.
While the video is only twenty seconds long, it is unabashedly adorable. Overall, I enjoy all of shar’s animations. The open and expressive faces of the characters, the vivid colors seen throughout, and the change to modern clothes/setting make each video feel fresh and exciting to watch.
