Caption Contest 430: The Funniest Single Frame from Any Video Game Ever
Posted on March 31 2025 by Rod Lloyd
What’s up, Zelda fans?! Are you ready for a little April Fools’ come-early? For this week’s Zelda Dungeon Caption Contest, I’ve got for you a screenshot that I just can’t stop laughing at. I’m serious; like with Johannes Vermeer’s Girl With The Pearl Earring, there’s a true “Sustained Attentional Loop” happening here. Your gaze just can’t stop bouncing back and forth across the image.
Our Last Contest:
Link got pinched because he forgot to wear green on Saint Patrick’s Day.
Here are our photoshop caption winners:

Here are our non-photo caption winners:
- CatBread: Grandma, my green tunic was fine. You could hardly see the skid marks on the back!
- Solar Man: It was at this moment that Link remembered he left his wallet at the Forsaken Fortress.
- IceRod: Forget the shirt. What’s going on with that bed head?
- MamuMelody: Link: Facing giant spiders and evil kings when most kids are just trying to beat bedtime.
- Pearl Wright: “my grandma knitted me this so I feel obligated to wear it but I actually look horrendous”
This Week’s Contest:
I don’t want to give anything away, but this Wand of Gamelon screenshot might have something to do with an article coming out tomorrow.
Here are the guidelines:
- Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages. When in doubt, keep it Nintendo.
- If you don’t have the ability to edit the image, just leave it as a comment. We make sure to have a separate list of winners for this category.
- Photo editing and manipulation (i.e. Photoshop) is allowed, but these entries will be part of a separate list of winners for this category.
- Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Dungeon. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another… and that’s OK.
- Have fun and be creative!
Don’t forget to check back throughout the week and upvote your favorites, and, who knows? Maybe you will be one of next week’s winners.
