Breath of the Wild Icons Now Available From Nintendo Switch Rewards

Looking to spruce up your Nintendo Switch profile with some Zelda flair? You’re in luck! New missions and rewards have been added to the Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) service and a handful of those prizes are sure to excite Breath of the Wild fans. NSO members will now be able to purchase exclusive, custom icon elements with their platinum points. Among these are a bunch of new icons inspired by Breath of the Wild for avid Zelda fans to collect.

According to Nintendo, new Breath of the Wild icons will be available through July 4th, 2022. Their post also seems to say that these specific icons are part of “Wave 1” and will only be available until June 13th. We can see the iconic Hylian seal, a guardian, and some fan favorite characters like Link, Zelda, Daruk, and Purah. Of course, true Zelda fans will be pursuing the legendary raw prime meat icon!
These Breath of the Wild icons (as well as a set for Animal Crossing: New Horizons) are being added as part of the Missions and Rewards update to NSO. Many of these missions have simple requirements that anyone with a subscription can complete, like playing online, playing a classic title, or backing up save data. While Nintendo did not state a specific price for the new Breath of the Wild icons, their website shows character icons as costing ten platinum points, while frames and backgrounds cost only five. Not too bad for those looking to create a unique avatar for their profile!
