Best of Redbubble Zelda

I am not sure how many of you already know about the art website Redbubble, but chances are a sizable amount of you do. It has gotten fairly popular and been featured and referenced on this website a number of times. I was hoping to do sort of a “Have you heard of this awesome website?” kind of post, but a fellow writer here on Zelda Dungeon, Alexander, already did that earlier this year. And he pretty much covered what I wanted to say although I still felt it necessary to share my favorites from Redbubble. It is a great website, which I have used many times, that should get more recognition.
First off, if you don’t know about Redbubble, it is a fantastic art website for posters, prints, shirts, hoodies, and iPhone cases, which you can visit here. Secondly, Redbubble has such a huge selection that I thought it needed more of an exposition. Alexander’s article was great and it showed some of my favorite Zelda pieces from the website, but I think it underplayed the selection of the site. Just searching “Zelda” alone gets 4517 results, split into 48 pages. Sure, not all of the results are Zelda-specific, but most of them are definitely worth viewing. I could even start using Redbubble for an artist pool along with deviantART for Zelda Artist Expositions. In the interest of full disclosure, I couldn’t browse through all 48 pages to write this, but my selection is still pretty fair because I’ve searched through the site many times.
“Looking For Work” by Rhonda Blais. This one wouldn’t be one of my personal favorites. But it’s probably the most popular Zelda design on Redbubble, and it’s a funny concept so I thought I should show it anyway.
“Skyloft Knight Academy” by Rachael Thomas. This is my favorite of these types of designs—the ones that advertise a team or group based on something fictional. Other great ones of these are “Hyrule University” and “Silver Scales Invitational“, a Zora diving team shirt.
“The Legend of Zelda Triforce” by MrP1ckles. If you browse through Redbubble you will see there are a ton of Hylian Crest pieces. Picking one was pretty easy, but I did have to muddle through a lot of more simplistic versions. So this is my favorite Hylian Crest design of them all.
“Master Sword and Triforce” by Frostwraith. This is my favorite Master Sword design, and this is a design a do actually own. I got it as a long sleeve shirt. I want to get many things on Redbubble, but their shirts are pretty expensive. That’s what you pay for unique designs I suppose.
“The Legend of Zelda The Rupees Geek Line Artly” by barrettbiggers. There really isn’t much I can say about this piece. I just like it. I think it’s a cool, clever design to advertise and demonstrate the rupees and their values.
“The Deku Tree” by voltronbadA. For those who don’t know, this is a crossover piece between Zelda and a popular children’s book, The Giving Tree. I believe Jessica did a post over this shirt already but from a different website. Either way I wanted to show it again. I really love this shirt because crossovers can be really clever. It is a bit hard for me not be biased on this design because I grew up on this book and even knew Shel Silverstein as a baby so when someone adds Zelda to something I already love, I can’t resist.
“Majora’s Fall” by Michael Fortman. Now this one is probably my favorite among favorites. I have always loved the design of Majora’s Mask, and this design highlights the mask perfectly. I think it is very beautiful and has great color. Here is another great Majora’s Mask piece featuring the Happy Mask Salesman.
“Legend of Zelda Midna Twilight Princess Geek Line Artly” by barrettbiggers. This is another one by barrettbiggers, who made the rupee piece above. I featured this one based off of its intensity, its attention to detail, and how striking it is as a portrait. Due to some odd image issues, I had to use the shirt design below, but if you click the link you can see the full image without the very cropped and faded borders.
“The Princess of Destiny” by Thomas Randby. This is another one of my personal favorites. I think the subtlety of the design and coloring are really what make this piece stand out.
You can browse Redbubble’s Zelda selection here. I am sure I left some good designs out, but I couldn’t feature every single one that caught my eye sadly. Thanks for reading as always.
Here is Alexander’s previous articles with his favorite picks. His selections are pretty great.
