Awesome Games Done Quick Speedrunning Marathon is Live, Will Feature Four Zelda Games
Posted on January 15 2024 by Judy Cooper
Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) is an annual event that brings speedrunners from around the world together to beat videogames as quickly as possible in an effort to raise money for a worthy cause. The 2024 marathon began streaming live yesterday, and will run 24/7, featuring games from every generation of gaming history. Donations are already flooding in to benefit Prevent Cancer Foundation, a U.S.-based nonprofit organization founded in 1985.
AGDQ has always been sure to include a number of Zelda games in their schedule, and they haven’t disappointed this year. With four mainline titles on the roster, including the latest series installment, fans will have plenty to look forward to. On the list, you’ll find:
- The Legend of Zelda (Any% Glitchless) January 16th, 2024 at approx. 10:56 AM EST
- Ocarina of Time (Medallions, Stones, Trials) January 17th, 2024 at approx. 7:05 AM EST
- Majora’s Mask (100% No Major Glitches Relay) January 19th, 2024 at approx. 10:34 AM EST
- Tears of the Kingdom (Any%) January 20th, 2024 at approx. 6:33 PM EST
Naturally, start times for each run are subject to change and viewers should keep an eye on the schedule if they’re excited for any game in particular. Luckily, AGDQ adjusts their schedule to your device’s time zone, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to stay on top of any movement.
As if supporting a worthy cause and watching players run awesome Zelda games weren’t enough, AGDQ also has some prizes in store for viewers who donate. Some of these prizes are Zelda-themed, so don’t miss out, if you can manage it!
You can find out more information on the schedule, donations, and prizes on the event’s website. The show is running from now until January 21st, 2024, so be sure to tune in to AGDQ and support the event in whatever way you can. Watch the streams, share the fun, and if you can, donate to the run!
