Aonuma Acknowleges Demand for Majora’s Mask Remake, Won’t Verify Consideration

After they showed they could do it with Ocarina of Time 3D, a sizable portion of the Zelda fanbase has been clamoring for remakes of their favorite titles in the series, but the demand for one in particular has stood out among the rest: Majora’s Mask. Operation Moonfall has thousands of fans hoping for a 3DS remake, and that impressive fanmade trailer for an HD Majora’s Mask convinced a lot of people that a Wii U version of the game would be awesome. Some fans’ hopes have been rising recently with all the teasing about there being some sort of hint in A Link Between Worlds with regards to the future of Majora’s Mask.
But, when asked about the state of spooky
Zelda games in a recent interview with IGN, Aonuma was unwilling to even confirm that a Majora remake is even being considered. Now, perhaps that means he’s just keeping the idea completely under-wraps until reveal, perhaps it means Nintendo literally isn’t even considering doing a Majora’s Mask remake anymore, or perhaps it’s something in between those two extremes. I’ll guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.
Personally, I’m pulling for an HD remake, but what about you? Do you want it on 3DS, Wii U, or not at all?
