Aonuma: Zelda Wii U announcement scrapped due to lack of time
Posted on October 21 2013 by Parker
Anyone waiting impatiently for Zelda Wii U news is in for a disappointment. Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma was apparently going to talk about the so-far elusive game at Comic-Con, but scraped his plans due to not having enough time, according to an interview with a German game website translated by GoNintendo readers.
Aonuma was going to share Zelda Wii U details during recent trips to New York and Germany, but he ended up being too busy preparing for his A Link Between Worlds presentations. He promised, however, an announcement in the future.
Q.: Are you already preparing an anouncement for next E3? Maybe a Zelda for Wii U, how about that?
Eiji Aonuma:”To tell you the truth, I was planning to prepare something for my visits in New York and Germany that I could share with the fans. But I was so busy with preparations concerning the “A Link Between Worlds” presentation, that I’m sitting here today, with empty hands. But you can be happy about future announcements. Once I’m back in my office, I’ll get to work so that I’ll have something to announce”
This isn’t the first time we came close to learning some concrete details about Zelda Wii U. The game was allegedly going to be shown at E3 2013, but legendary Nintendo developer Shigeru Miyamoto said at the time that Nintendo decided to save its big reveal for latter.
I don’t mind waiting for Zelda Wii U news, especially with all the A Link Between Worlds news we’ve been getting recently. But what about you? Do you wish Aonuma had gone ahead with sharing details on this long-awaited game? Tell us in the comments!
