Aonuma Plans A Surprise Twist For Zelda U’s Open World
Posted on October 23 2015 by Jon Lett
Boy, these days, are we clawing and scraping for Zelda Wii U news of any kind. trailers, screenshots, artwork, A TITLE – anything would be nice. Thankfully, Aonuma is willing to talk about the game a bit to popular sites, even if he doesn’t say much. IGN had a chance to ask him about the game, and he apparently has some plans we are not expecting for the new open world everyone’s been asking for!
Check out the quotes after the jump!
“We actually had some feedback from Skyward Sword, where people were saying, ‘This is not exactly the Zelda game I was looking for, I was looking for a bigger open world.’ Unfortunately, I can’t go into details but I’m hoping to put a surprise, or kind of a twist, on my view of an open world game. I hope that you’ll look forward to it.”
“If we put all the feedback the fans write directly into the game, there won’t be an element of surprise. If there’s a comment and they’re asking for certain element, I would think, ‘Oh, why not interpret this in a different way that you wouldn’t expect?’ That’s how we create a new element in a Zelda game. I always want to implement something new and surprising into every game.“
A surprise, huh? FUNNY AONUMA. With the unbelievable lack of news on Zelda Wii U, anything the man tells us is a surprise. Nonetheless, I am plenty excited that the new open world will have that special kind of Nintendo spice, giving us stuff we never knew we wanted. Whatever the “surprise” turns out to be, I sure hope they show it to us soon.
What do you guys think? What might this surprise be? Drop a comment!
