A Link Between Worlds, the brand new Zelda title being released on November 22nd for the Nintendo 3DS, features an interesting new power for Link: the ability to become a painting. We have recently been informed that this ability is the player’s link between the two available worlds, but we had not yetbeen told how the transformation would occur. That is, until now.

From released artwork or game footage, you may have noticed a strange new accessory on our hero’s arm. In a recent interview, game director Eiji Aonuma explains the importance of the item.
The bracelet is a very important item that he gets at the beginning of the adventure, and it’s something that’s really important throughout the course of the adventure. I don’t want to give away too much, because it will spoil a lot of the fun, but let’s just say that it ties into Link’s ability to become a picture.
While he didn’t offer any more information for the sake of not ruining the fun, what he did say is still rather important. We now have a clear understanding on how Link enters the other world, and also that it will be accessible in the early game.
Personally, I can’t wait to see just how this item is introduced, and it’s background. Perhaps it’s some ancient artifact, or maybe something from the time of A Link to the Past. I’m also happy with Aonuma’s choice to keep it a surprise, in the hopes of not spoiling the excitement of playing the game for the first time.
