A Closer Look at Prima’s Zelda Box Set
Posted on December 17 2013 by Legacy Staff
Still not convinced that you should get ahold of Prima’s Zelda Strategy Guide box set? Maybe this new video, posted on gonintendo.com, will help convince you. The video is a simple unboxing, giving you a more in-depth glimpse at everything you’ll receive if you order the set, and I must admit it makes the set look quite attractive. So, in the spirit of going more in-depth about Prima’s box set, let’s explore the contents of this most unique item.
The set comes in a sleek
Zelda-style chest made out of cardboard (don’t scoff, it’s laminated cardboard!) that is held shut by a small magnet, and includes the six most recent strategy guides that Prima has released for the Zelda series, each bound in a foil-stamped hardcover with gilded pages, easily surpassing even Hyrule Historia in quality. The six guides are (in no particular order):
- Ocarina of Time 3D
- Spirit Tracks
- Phantom Hourglass
- The Wind Waker HD
- Twilight Princess
- Skyward Sword
It is also worth noting that the
Skyward Sword guide has been revised and expanded by over 100 pages for this set.
In addition to the strategy guides, the box contains a gold-plated brass bookmark, which looks stunning in the video (My jaw dropped when he pulled it out of the box). That might just be the coolest part about
the entire thing. On one side it has the
Zelda logo, and on the back side is the Hylian Crest, in all its shiny, golden glory.
Lastly, the set comes with a certificate of authenticity, complete with an individual item number and a special note from Aunoma to the fans of
Zelda, which some of you might remember from earlier this month.
Prima is asking for a steep $180 for this box set, so it is definitely an item meant for only the most dedicated collectors, especially considering they are only running a single printing of the guides. So if you
don’t snag them up quick, you’re going to end up spending a lot more than $180.
If I could afford it I would definitely be picking one of these up myself, but since I can’t I will settle for watching this video one more time.
