It’s time for nature to take back the land in this latest Hyrule Warriors trailer. In this, we get to see new character, Lana, stick it to the bad guys in more ways than one!
Follow the jump to cross the green mile!
We see Lana begin this trailer with her new weapon, the Spear, as she summons a miniaturized version of the Deku Tree to rise from the earth. From there on, Lana summons a huge variety of objects referencing classic Zelda weapons.
The first is one you have to seed to beleaf. It’s the Deku Leaf from Wind Waker, and the second weapon from that game. This weapon shall activate as Lana performs a variety of attacks, such as being a makeshift blade when Lana spins. And true to it’s roots, the leaf has the power to blow foes away, but in greater numbers than ever before. This will cause Lana to rise up, allowing her to use the Leaf as a glider to rain daily nutrients of pain onto the enemy with water magic and dive bombs.
Lettuce move on to some of the other tricks Lana has amossed. We know that certain weapons will provide varying elements of magic; and in this case, the Spear uses not only grass magic, but water magic for it’s attacks. Lana is primarily a water magic user; so when a weapon is being specialized by a person of a certain element, that weapon may have different effects depending on the combination. This water can also become ice blocks that can be shattered. We can see Lana use it to summon various clones of the Deku Sprout.
Two Deku Sprout clones will drive the enemy nuts with a Deku Nut barrage, followed by three giant bomb nuts. Three clones will bounce about happily; one clone will allow Lana to ride upon it as a steed and charge enemies with the Deku Staff as her javelin. We can also see that when Lana uses this, she summons a Deku Shield to protect her.
And one of Lana’s most explosive techniques shown in this trailer is the ability for her to weed out pesky enemies with the roots of the Deku tree. As it strikes , we can see the water magic circle appear with a splash of water effects, making this attack a water, grass combination.
Overall, I’d say this weapon provides instant grassification.
This trailer also gave us a glimpse at more of the Faron Woods stage outside of the tree town area, including a lovely waterfall area we haven’t gotten a good look at until recently.
