A German website, Nintendo-Online, has reportedly confirmed that Monolith Soft has co-developed A Link Between Worlds with Nintendo EAD Group No. 3.
Here’s what Nintendo-Online has said about it:
Monolith Soft is known for RPGs like Baten Kaitos or Xenoblade and is currently developing a JRPG for the Wii U with the project name X. A few years ago, a second Monolith Soft studio was founded in Kyoto. It operates closely with Nintendo. Monolith Soft’s Kyoto studio has contributed to the development of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Pikmin 3. The studio, which has about 30 employees, is helping Nintendo EAD in developing several games by contributing to its graphic design.
As said, Monolith Soft is much more well known for developing the critically acclaimed Xeno series, but they’ve also been important in other great Nintendo titles. With such great reviews of A Link Between Worlds coming out, perhaps we should be giving a little more praise to these guys, too.
