“Best Gamer” Master Sword trophy

Being a central part of the Zelda fan community, Zelda Dungeon certainly sees a lot of different fan-made articles and pieces made in homage to the series. Although all of them are awesome in their own right, it’s rare in which one can say that a particular piece is truly unique in it’s idea and execution; bridging the gap between being an impressive piece of art and serving a function effectively at the same time. One such example is a laser-cut trophy modelled after the Master Sword, which is not only an impressively accurate replica of the original, but also lights up!

As one can see from the pictures above, the trophy consists of two parts. The first part is the Master Sword itself, which appears to be made from transparent plastic and was laser-cut to provide the detail on the hilt and the cross-guard. Although the blade is constructed out of a simple clear plastic, the hilt is tinted blue, and the central gem and the small Triforce engraving is of a bright green tint as to make the centre section of the sword really stand out. The base of the trophy is a simple wooden box which acts as the sword’s pedestal and bears a small plastic plaque with the words “Best Gamer” to reflect the trophy’s purpose of being awarded to a person deserving of the title.
If that wasn’t enough, the trophy also lights up through a piece of circular blue plastic fixed to the base. This produces a mysterious blue glow which emanates from the bottom of the sword and illuminates the entire model when placed in the pedestal.
This is certainly a very unique trophy, and a very unique piece of Zelda fan-art at the same time. I don’t think there’s much to say here apart from the fact that the person who would be receiving this trophy as part of their title as “Best Gamer” is a very lucky person indeed.
