Daily Debate: If You Could Go Back and Play Any Zelda Game Again for the First Time, Which Would It Be?

It’s Fresh Takes time here at Zelda Dungeon! For the next several days, our team will be revisiting games that we played years ago to see how our opinions have changed. For some of us, those games we played are still just as good as we remember — or even better. And for others, the veil of nostalgia has been removed, and we are sad to find that we… aren’t really fans of that particular entry anymore. It’s been eye-opening, for sure, no matter which side of the line we landed on.
But what if we, the fans, could… undo it all? Just remove all memories and try again? Let’s say that, with the snap of fingers, everything we had experienced before as we guided the hero for the first time was gone, and we were given another chance to live any first playthrough once more. With no biases, no nostalgia, but with all the life experiences that come with the passing of time, we’d be able to once more pick up the controller and try again.
What game would you choose? Do you think you’d like that particular game just as much? Would it mean the same, or would it mean something completely different, now that years have passed and you’re even just a little older? Is there a Zelda game that you think would mean more now?
Which Zelda game would you replay for the first time, if given the chance? Let us know in the comments below!
