Daily Debate: Should Link Be a Functional Echo in Echoes of Wisdom?
Posted on August 22 2024 by Connor Butler

In the reveal trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, we are shown Zelda’s amazing new Echo ability. Using this ability, she can clone tables, beds, bushes, and even blocks of water! While this ability has many implications, there is one part of the Echo system that is incredibly exciting. Instead of hand-to-hand combat like in a traditional Zelda game, the Princess must make use of Echoes to fight her battles. With this mechanic, you can make copies of living enemies, and use them in combat.
While this ability will likely be used to capture enemies like Moblins and Darknuts, there’s one particular combatant who would make an interesting Echo: The green clad hero himself, Link. It would be particularly interesting to have Link as a helpful NPC helper, but it would be even more fun to attack a monster with several clones of Link, depending on his Echo cost. There could even be other uses outside of this, such as summoning an Echo of Link to make use of his items, like the bow or the Hookshot.
But what do you think? Should Link be an Echo for the Princess to make use of? Let us know in the comments below!
