Caption Contest 411: O Canada!

Hey there, Zelda fans! Are you ready for another exciting edition of the Zelda Dungeon Caption Contest?

Before we kick things off for this week’s contest, I just wanted to thank everyone who tuned in last week to the live Caption Contest I hosted during the Zelda Dungeon Marathon. It was a grand experiment, as well as my first hosting gig of that magnitude, so I really appreciate you all being there to show your support and share your quips in chat.

Now, onto the new contest: It’s Canada Day! I was actually planning to use a screenshot from the newly announced Echoes of Wisdom this week, but Canada Day only lands on a Monday once every few years. I had no choice but to use a Tim Hortons-inspired image for the contest this week.

Our Last Contest:

Thanks again to everyone who participated in our last contest. Your entries were very likely highlighted during my live contest segment at the ZD Marathon.

Here are our photoshop caption winners:

Here are our non-photo caption winners:

  • pyridiss: That’s the face I made when they told me I wouldn’t be the hero of the next Zelda game
  • GoldenHalcyon: Link: “And this here is a painting I made of my beautiful wife Zelda…”
Zelda: “I thought it was a self portrait”
  • Sage of Fire: This is what eating too many monster guts can do to you. You have been warned
  • IceRod: “The world is literally crumbling under our feet, and Princess Zelda is missing? Don’t sweat it. Still take the time to live, to draw, and to breathe in all the chaos.”
  • L3XI0: Welp, at least they got my hair right.

This Week’s Contest:

To honor all my pals who live in the Great White North, here’s a fun photoshop I’ve seen bouncing around the internet over the past few years.

Here are the guidelines:

  • Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages. When in doubt, keep it Nintendo.
  • If you don’t have the ability to edit the image, just leave it as a comment. We make sure to have a separate list of winners for this category.
  • Photo editing and manipulation (i.e. Photoshop) is allowed, but these entries will be part of a separate list of winners for this category.
  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Dungeon. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another… and that’s OK.
  • Have fun and be creative!

Don’t forget to check back throughout the week and upvote your favorites, and, who knows?  Maybe you will be one of next week’s winners.
