Daily Debate: What Is the Most Celebratory Moment in The Legend of Zelda Series?
Posted on July 04 2024 by Heather Beard
It’s Independence Day here in the United States and it’s a holiday that is often celebrated with fireworks, family, and a lot of celebrating. Given that it’s a holiday it got me thinking, what is the most celebratory moment in The Legend of Zelda?
I realize that this is a little bit of an abstract question, but I think I’d like to keep it that way. For me, one of the most celebratory moments within the Zelda series is when I roll credits on one of the games. I still remember rolling credits on A Link to the Past; it was a game that I struggled to finish, but the end result was so rewarding, it was a celebratory moment for sure!
As for an in-game moment that was celebratory I would have to pick a more recent Zelda game as an example. After defeating the Demon Dragon in Tears of the Kingdom and you come full circle catching Zelda falling from the sky felt like a moment for celebration. Not only did the player finish the main objective of the game, but there is something so beautiful about seeing Link and Zelda finally reunited and Zelda saying, “Oh Link, I’m home.” I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks that moment as “celebratory.”
I want to know what everyone else thinks though. What is the most celebratory moment in The Legend of Zelda series? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
