Daily Debate: What Do You Hope to See from the Zelda Franchise in 2024?
Posted on December 29 2023 by Judy Cooper
As we usher in a new year, I can’t help but wonder what the Zelda franchise has in store for 2024. After all, last year was pretty good, considering the release of Tears of the Kingdom and associated consoles and merchandise. But with no upcoming new mainline game on the horizon, where can fans set their expectations?
Realistically, I’m hoping for a remake on Switch. A Link to the Past seems like it would be easy-peasy, especially if Nintendo follows the same formula as seen with Link’s Awakening which released in 2019. If my hopes are too high, I’d settle for a port of Twilight Princess instead. And I just know a lot of other fans would settle for that too!
In terms of merchandise, I’m so ready for something that isn’t covered in Zonai patterns. Don’t get me wrong, the pattern is cool, but I’ve just got so much of it already. I really wish Nintendo would release collectible Spiritual Stones from Ocarina of Time (ones that shine like real gold and jewels) or an officially licenced mask from Majora’s Mask. I want epic stuff and not just the typical mugs and keyrings we’ve seen recently.
So, what do you hope to see from Zelda in 2024? Let us know in the comments below!
