Aaron Grubb returns with a brand new cover album of music from The Legend of Zelda franchise. His latest work, A Rainy Day in Hyrule, released November 1st and is his most relaxing to date. And despite all the hate that rain gets in Breath of the Wild, you’ll absolutely love it in this collection.

The album is comprised of previously released songs that Grubb slowed down, then added or removed elements to make them more relaxing, such as rain and vinyl sounds. Grubb explains, “The reason I made this is that there are so many people using my music for relaxation, sleep, and reducing anxiety that I thought I would take it a step further and try to make it even more effective for those people. I tremendously enjoy rain, so it was a natural step forward.” As a resident of the Pacific Northwest, rain is a constant in Grubb’s life; how fitting to include it in his latest album!

A Rainy Day In Hyrule includes the following tracks:

  1. “Full Steam Ahead” (From Spirit Tracks)
  2. “Lake Hylia” (From Twilight Princess)
  3. “Ilia’s Theme” (From Twilight Princess)
  4. “Final Hours” (From Majora’s Mask)
  5. “Aryll’s Theme” (From The Wind Waker)
  6. “Bolero of Fire” (From Ocarina of Time)
  7. “Game Over” (From The Legend of Zelda)
  8. “Stables” (From Breath of the Wild)
  9. “Market” (From Ocarina of Time)
  10. “Calling the Four Giants” (From Majora’s Mask)
  11. “Title Theme” (From Ocarina of Time)
  12. “Lost Woods” (From Ocarina of Time)
  13. “Song of Healing” (From Majora’s Mask)
  14. “Song of Storms” (From Ocarina of Time)

My personal favorites are the tracks from Twilight Princess as I think the sounds of rain match the mood of that game. I’ll definitely be enjoying this album the next time I write or study. Which song is your favorite?
