Posted on November 12 2020 by David Lasby
It is perhaps the most iconic moment in the Legend of Zelda franchise: the moment Link first grasps a sword and takes up his calling as the Legendary Hero. For long-time Zelda fans, this moment from the original game holds a special significance and is steeped in nostalgia. Now, thanks to animator and polymer clay sculptor Kerobyx, gamers can recreate that celebrated moment in an adorable clay diorama.
Kerobyx breaks down the project into manageable step-by-step directions, including material lists, cooking temperatures, and construction tips in this seven-and-a-half-minute video tutorial. His clever sense of humor playfully nods to the history of Nintendo and Zelda, keeping viewers thoroughly entertained while learning how to complete the project. Once finished, fans will enjoy the miniature polymer clay diorama, which includes the old man, torches, Link, and of course the legendary sword; it’s sure to deliver all the feels.
Reflecting upon his YouTube channel and the work he does, Kerobyx explains, “On my channel you can find clay tutorials posted every Saturday, but also some in between. I try to provide a relaxing and helpful environment whether you also play with clay or not. My favorite things to sculpt are Nintendo, Indie games, and Cartoon Network.”
Tell us what you think. Will you be attempting to build the classic Zelda diorama? What other scenes would you like Kerobyx to create? Share your reactions in the comments below!
