Furukawa: Nintendo Will Not Be Announcing New Hardware at E3

Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa, while speaking during a Nintendo Earnings event, stated that there are no plans for new hardware to be shown during E3 2019.
For the last few months, rumors have been circulating that Nintendo has been in the process of developing new Switch models: a smaller Switch with less features, priced less than the current Switch model; and an upgraded Next-Gen model. There was some hope that the smaller model would be revealed at E3.
All hope is not lost for a reveal this year, as this only rules out E3 — Nintendo could reveal something through a Direct instead. Nintendo has still yet to refute that they are developing new Switch models. Notably, Furukawa mentioned that Nintendo is always developing hardware internally.
