Majora’s Mask Turns 15

Happy birthday to Majora’s Mask! The popular sequel to Ocarina of Time turned 15 today. The N64 title was first released on April 27, 2000, just two years after Ocarina of Time.
Shingeru Miyamoto produced the game, which is the sixth main Zelda title in the series. Majora’s Mask follows the Hero of Time as he heads to the land of Termina. There, he must stop a giant moon from crashing into the planet.
Unlike Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask needed an extra piece of hardware to function. It required the use of an Expansion Pak, which provided expanded memory to allow better graphics and more characters to appear on-screen. Another difference between the two games was the number of save files available to players. While Ocarina of Time had three save slots, Majora’s Mask only had two.
As most fans know, the game was recently remade for the 3DS. Majora’s Mask 3D was released on February 13 this year and included new features like a rotating camera (if fans owned a New 3DS or Circle Pad Pro) and updated boss fights.
