When Calamity Ganon emerges from Hyrule Castle, its sends four Blight Ganons to the Divine Beasts in order to corrupt them and kill their pilots. Daruk is stuck inside Divine Beast Vah Rudania when he is attacked by Fireblight Ganon, and he fights back, and he ends up using Daruk's Protection often refusing to back down. Eventually Fireblight Ganon slams hard onto Daruk's forcefield which shatters it and stuns Daruk which renders him in a helpless state as it proceeds to throw a large fiery rock at him. Before he could be struck down, the Gate of Time from Terrako appears and Yunobo comes out and uses a similar barrier to block the lethal blow, much to Daruk's surprise that another Goron can use his power, but Yunobo assures him that he is there to help. As Fireblight Ganon intimidates them, Yunobo starts trembling until Daruk stands between them to return the favor as he reminded the young Goron to stay calm.
