The Grappling Hook is an item in The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass. It has similar uses to the Hookshot in other titles. By targeting a piece of wood, Link throws the Grappling Hook around it and swings on to a platform. It can also be used to steal loot from enemies before they are defeated. If Link is in his boat, using this item has the ability of searching for treasure in the ocean. The Whip in Spirit Tracks and Skyward Sword shares many of the same functions with the Grappling Hook.
