What You See is What You Get in This Lens of Truth DIY Prop Video

While you can take your chances inside Ocarina of Time‘s Shadow Temple without the Lens of Truth, I think it’s fair to say the item does improve Link’s chances inside the dungeon. That’s why it’s good to see the likes of Alex from 1up-crafts help our hero out as he shows how to build your very own Lens of Truth. This isn’t a simple crafting video, as Alex puts in some key details that make this iconic Zelda item stand out from the pack.

Using a 3D printer, along with a combination of deep-pour resin, mica powders, and some key electronics, Alex is able to bring this eerily useful tool from Link’s inventory to life. Speaking of electronics, those implemented in this build incorporate one of the item’s unique features. With a simple button press, Alex’s Lens of Truth lights up along the rim of the eye, while at the same time integrating the sound effects that this Zelda accessory is known for.

This isn’t the first time Alex has tackled Zelda, having executed crafts for The Wind Waker, Majora’s Mask, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom. He has even worked on projects based on Super Mario, One Piece, Cyberpunk 2077, and Pokémon. There’s also a comment reply on the video above confirming that Alex is planning on making a DIY prop kit for those who want to create their very own Lens of Truth.
