The following article contains spoilers for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

You could say the yoke was on Calamity Ganon the day a little egg-shaped guardian went back in time and messed up his plans for world domination. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity’s story implies how heavily small changes can affect pivotal moments in the destiny of Hyrule. I do find it unfortunate that this latest Warriors game most likely won’t impact the story of Breath of the Wild 2. Well, Age of Calamity was at least a fun cooperative campaign that I could play with my brother.

Terrako, the little white guardian who initiates the game’s story, was curious in that her name was only mentioned in passing near the end of the game. I say her, because “ko” is an honorific in Japanese placed at the end of a female child’s name. After the death of her mother, the young Princess Zelda doted on the little robot. In turn, Terrako seems to treat Zelda as a sort of parent during Age of Calamity‘s story.

The team over at Adafruit Industries took a special interest in the little character as well! They have developed a kit for a 3D-printed Terrako figurine. This clever design uses a small motor and computer chips housed in a polylactide mold to make the head swivel and light up. Watching the overview video gave me mild PTSD from my first time encountering a Decayed Guardian on the Great Plateau. For those interested in cosplay, a magnet on the base of the model allows the Terrako unit to be mounted on a person’s shoulder as part of a costume.

Parts and instructions can be found here.

Do you do any 3D printing? Let us know if you’d take on this project in the comments below!
