Earlier this month we talked about a new book called the Hyrule Graphics Art Book, , a book that promised to contain all of the official art from the entirety of the series. In the west we are receiving something very similar, though under a new name calledThe Legend of Zelda: Arts & Artifacts. The big difference between this book and that book at the outset is that this one will contain art from the whole series through Breath of the Wild (it may even be possible that it contains yet to be released art work, given the timing of the release).

We have more than just the cover above to show off however, as we now have a fresh batch of details for this new announcement.

The Legend of Zelda™: Art and Artifacts contains over four hundred pages of fully realized illustrations from the entire thirty-year history of The Legend of Zelda™ including artwork from the upcoming The Legend of Zelda™: Breath of the Wild! Every masterwork is printed on high-quality paper in an oversized format so you can immerse yourself in the fine details of each piece. This book includes rare promotional pieces, game box art, instruction booklet illustrations, official character illustrations, sprite art, interviews with the artists, and much, much more! The Legend of Zelda™: Art and Artifacts collects many of your favorite masterpieces from the storied franchise, as well as rare and never before seen content, presented in one handsome hardcover.

Select artwork from the entirety of the franchise!

A nostalgic look at the past!

An exciting look at the future!

Interviews with some of the artists behind The Legend of Zelda™ series

Unlike the Hyrule Graphics Art Book, this one is not promising to have all of the official art, but rather select pieces. Of course what interest me the most is the look at the future (presumably Breath of the Wild) and the interviews with the artists. In general, it’s likely both books contain much of the same stuff, though there may be some differences (just like some art only released in Japan, only in the United States, etc). You can go ahead and preorder this bad boy right here for the low price of $39.99 (hey, it’s 400 pages!). It releases on February 21st, 2017.
